EUROPEAN ROBOTICS LEAGUE AWARDS
The European Robotics League is a pan-European robotics competition launched under the umbrella of SPARC - the Partnership for Robotics in Europe. Competitors engage in local and major tournaments distributed across Europe and organised by a coalition of Europe’s most prestigious robotics institutes.
The top-ranked teams awarded prizes during the Banquet Dinner at Le Chateau, Bucharest, Romania, on 21 March, at the European Robotics Forum 2019 (ERF2019) were:
- homer@UniKoblenz (represented by Gerhard Kraetzschmar) for the ERL Consumer and Professional Robots Competitions, handed over by Francesco Ferro (PAL Robotics)

GEORGES GIRALT PHD AWARD 2019
euRobotics yearly gives the Georges Giralt PhD Award at the European Robotics Forum to recognise great work of Ph.D. students in our community. The aim of the "Georges Giralt Ph.D. Award" is to showcase PhD theses defended in European universities from all areas of robotics. Outstanding theses with strong theoretical contributions, a focus on professional applications or technology transfer, with a high degree of multidisciplinarity, or showing how robotics technologies can be applied to new domains, are eligible for the prize.
The winners and finalists announced during the Banquet Dinner at Le Chateau, Bucharest, Romania, on 21 March, at the European Robotics Forum 2019 (ERF2019) were:
Winners:
- Grazioso Stanislao - U Napoli Federico II "Geometric soft robotics: a finite element approach"
- Tomić Teodor - Leibniz U Hannover "Model-Based Control of Flying Robots for Robust Interaction under Wind Influence"
- Kaboli Mohsen - Tech U Munich "New Methods for Active Tactile Object Perception and Learning with Artificial Robotic Skin"
- Lioutikov Rudolf - Tech U Darmstadt "Parsing Motion and Composing Behavior for Semi-Autonomous Manipulation"
- Mirrazavi Salehian Seyed Sina - EPFL "Compliant control of Uni/ Multi- robotic arms with dynamical systems"
