Profile

ISR/IST is a university based R&D institution where multidisciplinary advanced research activities are developed in the areas of Robotics and Information Processing, including Systems and Control Theory, Signal Processing, Computer Vision, Optimization, AI and Intelligent Systems, Biomedical Engineering. ISR, together with three other partner research institutions, IN+, IMAR-Azores and CREMINER is, since November 2001, an Associate Laboratory (AL). The AL was expanded to include 2 more institutions (CAMSDG/IST and MITI/U. Madeira) in 2010 and renamed to LARSyS. ISR-Lisbon is affiliated to Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), the School of Engineering of the Technical University of Lisbon. Most of its PhD researchers are teaching staff of IST. The research areas at ISR are supported by fundamental and applied research carried out, mostly in five groups: Dynamic Systems and Ocean Robotics, Computer and Robot Vision, Intelligent Systems, Mobile Robotics and Signal Processing. Keywords: Robot Guidance, Navigation and Control, Robot and Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence, Robot Task Planning, Multi-Robot Systems, Underwater, Land and Aerial Robotics, Robot Competitions
