Date: Brussels 8 May 2019
Place: BluePoint, A. Reyers 80, 1030 Brussels
This second workshop builds on the success of the first workshop that explored markets and technology sections within the new AI PPP SRIA. The goal of these workshops is to collect input from the robotics community into the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) for the new AI Partnership with the Big Data Value Association (BDVA). This follows the successful signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in December 2018 and the publication of the Joint Vision paper by BDVA and euRobotics during the European Robotics Forum.
It is important to understand that in this context the term AI is used in its broadest possible context (macro) and so includes everything in robotics and data as well as linking to related technical areas such as IoT, 5G, embedded systems etc.
The first workshop has reviewed the outline of the SRAI that has been developed jointly with BDVA. (The SRAI outline will be circulated prior to the workshop). The BDVA and euRobotics have set the goal of publishing the first draft of this document by the end of May 2019. This version will build on the Vision Document. It is expected that the full document will be published in Q4 2019.
This second workshop will focus on industrial engagement in the partnership and the potential for creating added value. It will focus on how to develop the AI Infrastructure and AI Framework, as described in the Vision Paper, focusing on business engagement, skills and value creation within the AI PPP. The workshop will also explain the on-going SRIA development process.
