European Robotics Week 2014

The European Robotics Week offers one week of various robotics related activities across Europe for the general public, highlighting growing importance of robotics in a wide variety of application areas. The Week aims at inspiring technology education in students of all ages to pursue careers in STEM-related fields, i.e. science, technology, engineering and math.

We would like to thank to all organisers for their contributions which made possible the European Robotics week 2014.

These are some highlights of the European Robotics Week 2014:

  • The fourth edition of the European Robotics Week saw a 30% increase in organised events compared to last year and an over 60% increase since its first edition in 2011
  • 500 robotics events took place in 22 European and associate countries and many of them were streamed worldwide from 28 to 30 December (www.robotics-labs.eu)
  • The top number of events were organised in Spain (190) and in Italy (93)
  • For the first time ever, Croatia, the newest member of the European Union, and Israel participated in the European Robotics Week

Toulouse Communication Centre
The heart of the European Robotics Week 2014 was the Communication Centre at Cité de l’Espace (Toulouse) which was also host to a plethora of events around robotics.

Competitions organised by the European RoCKIn project saw teams from throughout Europe put their robots to the test through scenarios and tasks that are highly relevant to real world processes in factories or in a home environment.

Organised by euRobotics AISBL, European Robotics Week has so far attracted over 170,000 people during its four years of existence and encouraged young and old to become involved in hundreds of different robotics related activities year after year.

A report of the European Robotics Week 2014 will be available in December 2014.

Organisation

Events are organised locally (by scientists, labs, teachers, schools, robotics engineers, robot makers etc.), but centrally listed and co-promoted. euRobotics AISBL, The European association for a Public-Private Partnership in robotics, serves as the central coordinator. The events are supported through national coordinators who are promoting the idea among their national networks and communities.

How to submit events

  • If you are registered (due to events in previous years)

Go directly to the "Login for ERW Partners" on the right side and login with your credentials. After being logged-in you just need to click on "Manage events" and then click on "Create new event".

  • If you are not registered

"Register" underneath the "Events 2014" button. You will receive the credentials to login by e-mail. All you need to do is then to follow the procedure above.
