ERL Emergency / TRADR Summer School, Oulu 2016
Show details
The ERL Emergency/TRADR Summer School 2016 on Heterogeneity in Robotics Systems is designed as a five-day course to provide participants with a full overview and hands-on experience with multi-domain (ground, water, air) real robotic systems for deployment in disaster-response scenarios. The focus is on multi-modal heterogeneous mapping, semantic analysis and reasoning and (collaborative) planning under uncertainty.

Attendees will deepen their understanding of outdoor autonomous robotics, share ideas and experiences, and prepare themselves for field robotics competitions.

The summer school is jointly organised by ERL Emergency Robots (www.robotics-league.eu) and TRADR (www.tradr-project.eu) EU Horizon 2020 and FP7 projects, respectively.

Local organisers: University of Oulu, German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), ETH Zurich and the University of the West of England, Bristol

Target audience
Participants included undergraduate students, Masters and PhD students, postdocs, researchers from universities/organisations and engineers from industry companies around the world.

Show details
The European Robotics League is an innovative concept for robot competitions. The ERL is composed of multiple "Local tournaments", held in different research labs across Europe, with certified test beds, and a few competitions as part of "Major tournaments" such as RoboCup. Teams participate in a minimum of two tournaments (Local and/or Major) per year and get scores based on their performances. Scores of the best two participations in tournaments for each team are added and teams are ranked based on their cumulative score. Prizes for the top teams will be awarded during the next year’s European Robotics Forum (ERF). For more information, please visit https://eu-robotics.net/robotics_league/

We are pleased to announce the first Local Tournament on the ERL Industrial Robots (ERL-IR) challenge, to be held between 22-26 November at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (BRSU), Sankt Augustin, Germany. The ERL Industrial tournament stems from its predecessor, the RoCKIn@Work competition, and focuses on the domain of industrial robotics in the Factory of the Future and also deals with modern automation issues. https://sites.google.com/site/erlirstaugustin/
