ERL Emergency Local Tournament (land+sea), La Spezia, Italy, July 2022
Show details
* Due to the COVID-19 outbreak our entire 2020/21 ERL season has been postponed until 2022.*

We are pleased to announce the first Robotics for Asset Maintenance and Inspection (RAMI) Marine Robots competition that will be held at the NATO STO Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation (CMRE), La Spezia, Italy, from 10 to 15 July 2022.

Organized in the framework of the METRICS EU project (https://metricsproject.eu/), the competition is part of the European Robotics League (ERL) Emergency season 2021-2022.

RAMI Marine Robots will include underwater robots working in an outdoor realistic environment. We will challenge the autonomy and cooperation of robotic systems in an Inspection & Maintenance scenario. A higher level of autonomy will be rewarded in the scoring. The CMRE protected seawater basin will host the activities of the Autonomous Underwater Robots.

Some of the tasks/functionalities that will be challenged are:
- autonomous underwater navigation;
- underwater pipes and structure inspection;
- object recognition;
- adaptive mission planning;
- underwater manipulation;
