Conference and exhibition on the Tenth anniversary of the adoption of robotics in Health vare at the Alessandria Ospedale Civile.

L’incontro a celebrazione del decennale robotico, si terrà sabato 15 settembre alle ore 10.30, presso il Salone di Rappresentanza alla presenza del Direttore Generale, Giacomo Centini nelle vesti di padrone di casa, del Prof. Giuseppe Spinoglio, fautore e pioniere della chirurgia robotica ad Alessandria, di Pierangelo Taverna, Presidente della Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria, che finanziò insieme alla Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Torino, il progetto del robot, Fabio Priora, attuale responsabile della Chirurgia. A moderare la tavola rotonda, Antonio Maconi, Responsabile della Struttura Formazione, Promozione Scientifica dell’Azienda Ospedaliera. A seguire, la presentazione dei responsabili delle sei specialità che nell’ospedale oggi si avvalgono della piattaforma da Vinci: Armando Serao, Direttore di Urologia, Raffaele Sorrentino, Direttore di Otorinolaringoiatria, Alessio Pini Prato, Direttore di Chirurgia Pediatrica, Nicola Strobelt e Stefano Prigione, Direttore e Dirigente Medico di Ginecologia, Maurizio Mancuso, Direttore di Chirurgia Toracica.

Per tutta la giornata di sabato e per il lunedì successivo, a partire dalle 9.30 e proseguendo fino alle 16.00, il pubblico avrà l’occasione di provare il robot da Vinci immedesimandosi nel ruolo di un chirurgo robotico.

A seguire il taglio del nastro dello spazio destinato alla mostra “Medicina 3.0: tra storia e innovazione” che rimarrà allestita dal 15 settembre fino al 28 settembre, presso i corridoi dell’Ospedale Civile.

Pet 2.0 è una creatura robotica.
I suoi comportamenti evolvono attraverso l'interazione con i visitatori e si manifestano tramite il movimento, la luce e il suono.
Pet 2.0 ricorda gli animali domestici: stimola curiosità, sollecita il gioco e lo scambio di emozioni tra uomo e robot. È parte di un lavoro di ricerca sull’evoluzione dei rapporti affettivi tra persone e macchine intelligenti.
L’installazione è realizzata nell’ambito del progetto educativo Make your Tech, finanziato da CISCO Foundation.
L’obiettivo é far esplorare l’uso di media elettronici e tecnologie open source come strumenti creativi ed espressivi, lavorando all’intersezione tra arte, scienza, tecnologia e design.

L'evento posto in fieri si colloca al termine del percorso di accoglienza per le prime classi della Scuola Secondaria di I grado dell’istituto: trattasi della celeberrima fiaba di Pinocchio ... riveduta e corretta da un duplice punto di vista.
Per il lato contenutistico la partitura è stata adattata per fare emergere la vis contro ogni forma di bullismo e discriminazione presente o potenzialmente presente tra gli adolescenti.
Sul versante della 'messa in scena' ci si è avvalsi di una creazione robotica - Pinocchio, appunto - totalmente progettata e creata dal gruppo laboratoriale interno all'Istituto, che coinvolge all'incirca il 15% degli alunni dei tre gradi. L'intero scorso anno scolastico 2017/18 - accanto alla partecipazione alla tradizionale manifestazione della First Lego League a Genova - è stato dedicato all'evento.
Sottolineiamo la commistione di linguaggi presenti nell'evento, che didatticamente ci ha consentito di avvicinare le arti alle scienze, passando per la letteratura. Ci preme in questa sede far emergere anche il valore educativo della robotica, il cui prodotto finito è frutto di una serie di competenze poste in gioco, capaci di rivoluzionare e di 'ribaltare' le tradizionali gerarchie di classe e di avere come risultato anche un miglioramento degli apprendimenti di base 'tradizionali'.
Attraverso la robotica, inoltre, si sono sostenute e potenziate competenze di cittadinanza attiva, grazie soprattutto al lavoro in team, all'organizzazione ad esso sottesa.

L'evento ha di fatto avuto un target tra i 6 e i 70 anni (nonni compresi).
Data la poliedricità del nostro 'Pinocchio 2.0? le 'letture' del musical sono state ovviamente differenti.

Es ist nie zu früh MINT (Mathematik-Informatik-Naturwissenschaft-Technik) zu entdecken!
FIRST® LEGO® League Junior ist aus einer Initiative der amerikanischen Stiftung FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) und LEGO® entstanden und wurde entwickelt, um Kinder im Alter von sechs bis zehn Jahren an die MINT-Thematik heranzuführen. Der Einstieg wird den Kindern durch die ihnen bekannten und beliebten bunten Steine erleichtert.
Begleitet durch zwei oder mehr erwachsene Coaches, erforschen die Teams (bis zu sechs Teammitglieder) reale existierende Probleme wie Recycling, Energie oder das Zusammenleben von Mensch und Tier. Sie erstellen ein Forschungsposter, das ihre Entdeckung und ihr Team vorstellt, und sie bauen ein motorisiertes Modell aus LEGO® Steinen. Auf der „Reise“ lernen die Kinder gemeinsam im Team zu arbeiten und erkunden die Wunder der Wissenschaft und Technik. Im Mittelpunkt des Projekts stehen die FLL Junior Grundwerte wie respektvoller Umgang, gemeinsames Erleben und kritisches Denken. Am Ende jeder Saison treffen sich die Teams zu einer Ausstellung, um ihre Ergebnisse zu präsentieren, Ideen auszutauschen und gemeinsam Spaß zu haben!

Robo.DU Day is an event with public talks about robotics & Arduino technology, presentations of 3D printers, first Dubrovnik electric bicycle and Smart. The 5th edition of the International Conference on Cloud and Robotics (ICCR 2018 - http://cloudrobotics.info) will be held on November 12-14 2018 in Paris and Saint-Quentin, France. The conference is a co-event with GDR ALROB and the industry exposition Robonumerique (http://www.robonumerique.fr).
The domain of cloud robotics aims to converge robots with computation, storage and communication resources provided by the cloud. The cloud may complement robotic resources in several ways, including crowd-sourcing knowledge databases, context information, computational offloading or data-intensive information processing for artificial intelligence. Today, the paradigms of cloud/fog/edge computing propose software architecture solutions for robots to share computations or offload them to ambient and networked resources. Yet, combining distant computations with the real time constraints of robotics is very challenging. As the challenges in this domain are multi-disciplinary and similar in other research areas, Cloud Robotics aims at building bridges among experts from academia and industry working in different fields, such as robotics, cyber-physical systems, automotive, aerospace, machine learning, artificial intelligence, software architecture, big data analytics, Internet-of-Things, networked control and distributed cloud systems.

The conference is organizing two special sessions: one on Robotics in Agriculture, as well as one industry session.

- presentations, expressing industry viewpoints and requirements that may help in shaping future research agenda. Prospective presenters should submit a short abstract describing the content of their presentation

LABADANzky è un artista genovese noto a livello nazionale per i suoi “giganti meccanici” dalle fattezze umane, costruiti con materiali di recupero e inseriti nel contesto urbano attraverso incursioni fulminee tipiche della street art, come denuncia del degrado, del consumismo e del controllo tecnologico delle vite. Strettamente legate all’arte relazionale, le opere di LABADANzky vengono collocate in punti strategici della città al fine di attirare l’immediata attenzione dei passanti e suscitare reazioni di stupore e riflessione circa le tematiche care al collettivo.
La mostra allestita al NYX Hotel Milan, presenta una scultura monumentale e diverse opere pittoriche e multiple di recente realizzazione. LABADANzky dimostra di essere in grado di lavorare con sapienza sia sulla tela che assemblando sculture, mantenendo come punto fermo e fonte di ispirazione costante il robot.

The ability to detect and react to chemicals is inherent in all living things. Smell is fundamental to the survival of countless species, who use this sense to find food, partners or to avoid dangers. The sense of smell in humans is not as accurate as in other animals, such as the dog, which we resort to when we need to perform particularly demanding tasks, such as detecting explosives, drugs or even victims of major disasters. What if we used scent robots to do these and other tasks?

The Internet of Things is increasingly present in the daily life of the human being. Since the window opens automatically at the time we want to wake up, until the temperature control of the house when we are still leaving our place of work, the chances are endless. But if it may seem like a seven-headed creature to interconnect all these systems, several are the tools that simplify life and allow us, in two steps, through a whole system to work.

Node-RED is a programming tool for connecting hardware devices, APIs and online services in new and interesting ways. Provides a browser-based editor that facilitates the connection of flows using a large catalog of nodes.

This workshop does not presuppose the existence of previous knowledge and it is necessary, however, for each enrollee to bring his laptop.

At the end of the workshop it is intended that the participants make a small program, taking into account the knowledge acquired in the workshop.

In the context of Engineering, whatever it is, we often come across the need to create rapid prototypes of ideas, or to create molds, or even dynamic presentations of some project for the team or company. 3D printers have never been as used as they are today and are of immense value in this regard, to help us improve the way we express an idea.

This Workshop will aim to better understand 3D printers as well as ways to use them for our benefit and take better advantage of them. There will also be a drawing component where the trainees will have the opportunity to learn some 3D drawing bases in Fusion 360 (Autodesk).
The workshop includes one-piece printing.

El 22 de noviembre celebramos el día de la robótica en el colegio a través de diferentes actos: abriremos con un debate con el grupo de 1 de bachillerato con el tema "¿Es la robótica beneficiosa para el ser humano", después, los estudiantes de 2 harán unas presentaciones en formato pechakucha con diferentes temas relacionados con la robótica: ciencia ficción, medicina, música... Esos mismo grupos, a la vez, están creando una feria de robótica con su tema; construyen una mesa con capas de realidad aumentada y un póster que pintarán para el evento. Las dos mejores mesas, junto a la mejor presentación, ganará un premio. Además, se realizan dos concursos paralelos, uno de microrrelatos y uno de cortos con la robótica como tema central. El 22 se hará la lectura de los microrrelatos ganadores y se hará un pequeño festival con los cortos.

Der Einstieg wird den Kindern durch die ihnen bekannten und beliebten bunten Steine erleichtert.
Begleitet durch zwei oder mehr erwachsene Coaches, erforschen die Teams (bis zu sechs Teammitglieder) reale existierende Probleme wie Recycling, Energie oder das Zusammenleben von Mensch und Tier. Sie erstellen ein Forschungsposter, das ihre Entdeckung und ihr Team vorstellt, und sie bauen ein motorisiertes Modell aus LEGO® Steinen. Auf der „Reise“ lernen die Kinder gemeinsam im Team zu arbeiten und erkunden die Wunder der Wissenschaft und Technik. Im Mittelpunkt des Projekts stehen die FLL Junior Grundwerte wie respektvoller Umgang, gemeinsames Erleben und kritisches Denken. The robots are already in our houses ... Bimbi, Roomba, Aquabot are names that are already familiar to us. But there are others we started to hear: The impressive Atlas to do parcour, the Paro that seems to do nothing but has gained fans in Japan, the Kuri who is spinning, then there is Pepper, Jibo, Aibo and many others .
In this conversation we will talk about the robots that we do not even give them that seem to hide themselves from those who make a point of interacting with us. Speaking of interaction, would it be desirable for robots to express emotions?

In the framework of the European Robotics Week the Politecnico di Milano opens the robotics labs to the public.

The European Robotics Week offers every year one week of various robotics related activities across Europe for the general public, highlighting the growing importance of robotics in a wide variety of application areas.
The Week also aims at inspiring technology education in students of all ages to pursue careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) related fields.

Robotics is one of the main lines of research at the Politecnico since 1973. The multi-disciplinary activities in the field of robotics is mainly carried out by the Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria (DEIB), and by the Dipartimento di Meccanica, through the work of a few specialized laboratories:

AIRLab: the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Lab is specialized in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Robotics and Bio-mimetic and Computer Vision.

CartCasLab: the Computer Assisted RadioTherapy and Surgery Laboratory is responsible for Surgery planning, Radiosurgery and Imaging therapy with robotic holder.

MERLIN: the MEchatronics and Robotics Laboratory for INnovation is active in the fields of Mechatronics, Industrial Robotics and Movement Control.

M&SSLab: the Mechatronics & Smart Structures Lab develops innovative solutions in the field of Mechatronics and Industrial Robotics.

NearLab: the NeuroEngineering and Medical Robotics Laboratory deals mainly with Surgery and Rehabilitation Robotics.

VPLab: the Virtual Prototyping Laboratory is active in the field of Development and Testing of Virtual Prototypes for Industrial Robotics.

FIRST LEGO League Junior Exhibition

It is never too early to discover STEM (science, technology, engeneering, mathematics)!
FIRST® LEGO® League Junior was created by an initiative of the American foundation FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and LEGO and has been developed to bring children from six to ten years to the STEM theme. The children will be introduced to the topics by the colorful bricks they already know.
Accompanied by two or more adult coaches, the teams (up to six team members) explore real existing problems such as ressources, recycling, energy, or the coexistence of humans and animals. They create a Show Me poster that presents their discovery and their team, and they build a motorized model of LEGO bricks. On the "journey" the children learn to work together in a team and explore the wonders of science and technology. The focus of the project are the FIRST® Core Values such as respectful approach, shared experience and critical thinking. At the end of each season, the teams meet for an exhibition to present their results, share ideas and have fun together.

Στα πλαίσια της Ευρωπαϊκής Εβδομάδας Ρομποτικής 2018, το φροντιστηριο πληροφορικής Comwiz, σας προσκαλεί σε μια διαδραστική έκθεση ρομποτοκατασκευών. Οι επισκέπτες θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να δουν και να επεξεργαστούν τις ρομποτοκατασκευές των μαθητών. Επίσης θα έχουν την δυνατότητα να «προγραμματίσουν» κάποια από τα ρομποτ με την βοήθεια των μαθητών και των εκπαιδευτών. Στόχος είναι οι μαθητές να εκθέσουν τις κατασκευές τους, και οι επισκέπτες να έρθουν σε επαφή με την ρομποτική όχι μόνο απλά κοιτάζοντας αλλά συμμετέχοντας.

Droonit tarjoavat uusia mahdollisuuksia maa- ja metsätalouden kehittämiseen. Peltojen ilmakuvauksella voidaan kartoittaa rikkakasvien leviämistä, kasvitautien esiintymistä, lannoitustarvetta tai vaikkapa salaojien sijaintia. Myös metsien ilmakuvaus tarjoaa nopeasti ajantasaista tietoa puuston kunnosta tai esimerkiksi myrskytuhojen laajuudesta.

Uuden teknologian käyttö vaatii kuitenkin vielä paljon tutkimusta, tuotekehitystä ja koulutusta. Droonit maa- ja metsätaloudessa kokoaa ensi kertaa yhteen suomalaiset teknologia-asiantuntijat, ilmakuvausta tarjoavat yritykset, kaukokartoitusmenetelmiä kehittävät tutkijat ja drooneista kiinnostuneet maa- tai metsätalouden harjoittajat.

Tapahtuman pääpuhujat edustavat alan huippuasiantuntemusta Suomessa ja maailmalla. Lisäksi ohjelmassa on lukuisia lyhyempiä puheenvuoroja sekä erikoisohjelmaa, kuten lentonäytös ja virtuaalimetsään tutustuminen.

It is never too early to discover STEM (science, technology, engeneering, mathematics)!
FIRST® LEGO® League Junior was created by an initiative of the American foundation FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and LEGO and has been developed to bring children from six to ten years to the STEM theme. The children will be introduced to the topics by the colorful bricks they already know.
Accompanied by two or more adult coaches, the teams (up to six team members) explore real existing problems such as ressources, recycling, energy, or the coexistence of humans and animals. They create a Show Me poster that presents their discovery and their team, and they build a motorized model of LEGO bricks. On the "journey" the children learn to work together in a team and explore the wonders of science and technology. The focus of the project are the FIRST® Core Values such as respectful approach, shared experience and critical thinking. At the end of each season, the teams meet for an exhibition to present their results, share ideas and have fun together.
